Children's theatre show by Wild Boor Ideas, a puppetry and clowning production adapted from the picture book 'Winnie and Wilbur: Winnie the Witch'.
Wild Boor Ideas are bringing Winnie and Wilbur, A Christmas Adventure to Pegasus Theatre this December, with the run opening on 11 December and continuing through to 24 December. It's a puppetry and clowning show for all ages, and since it runs right up to Christmas Eve, it works as a family outing during the school holidays.
The show is adapted from Winnie and Wilbur: Winnie the Witch by Valerie Thomas and Korky Paul, the text and illustrations of which have been in print since 1987. It follows Winnie, an accident-prone, adventure-loving witch, as she takes her long-suffering cat Wilbur on a Christmas journey across her magical picture book world. Along the way, they dive under the sea and fly into outer space, so the story moves through a few different settings rather than staying in one place. Co-author and illustrator Korky Paul gave the production his seal of approval, describing it as 'Blithering Broomsticks!'.
Wild Boor Ideas is an Oxford-based children's theatre company founded by Emma Boor, and they describe their work as puppetry, clowning, songs and interactive play. The production is presented by Wild Boor Ideas in association with Pegasus Theatre, and it's aimed at all ages, so it's as much for the adults as it is for the kids.
