Double-bill screening of the two best-selling children's picture books, 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' and 'The Tiger Who Came to Tea', at Vue Cinema Oxford.
Vue Cinema in Oxford is running a double-bill of We're Going on a Bear Hunt and The Tiger Who Came to Tea throughout the October half-term, with screenings starting on Saturday 17 October. It's two children's stories back-to-back, both rated U, so it's a morning out for the smaller ones.
On one side you've got We're Going on a Bear Hunt, the best-selling bedtime book by Michael Rosen. On the other is The Tiger Who Came to Tea, the classic story by Judith Kerr. If you've read them to your kids, you'll know the two: one is a rhythmic trek through grass, river and mud in search of a bear; the other is about a tiger who turns up for tea and proceeds to eat everything in the house. Seeing them paired together on the big screen gives you a good stretch of storytelling in one go, rather than just a single short.
Because it's a half-term run, there are plenty of slots to choose from. On Saturday 17 October, it's on at 9.00 and 11.20am. Sunday 18 October has 9.00 and 11.25am. From Monday 19 October onwards, it's a single morning showing each day: 10.30am on Monday and Tuesday, 10.20am on Wednesday, and 10.00am on Thursday 22 October. All of them are morning sessions, so you're in and out well before lunch.
