Stand-up show 'Totally' by Tom Allen, who turns everyday frustrations and domestic mishaps into comedy, at the New Theatre Oxford.
Tom Allen brings his new stand-up show Totally to New Theatre Oxford on Saturday 27 May 2028, starting at 19:30. It's his first tour since Completely, which his management described as a sell-out success, and Totally follows a similar thread: the everyday frustrations, domestic mishaps and the feeling of not quite fitting in that Allen has built his act around.
Much of the material comes from the advice to 'live in the moment', which Allen takes as a starting point and then proceeds to dismantle. He's told to live in the moment but finds himself distracted by old women on the bus listening to music without earphones; annoying influencers show him what his house is supposed to look like while his kitchen has just flooded; and the plumber wants to fit a 'fanny trap'. It's the sort of observational comedy that works because it's rooted in the small, irritating things that most of us recognise from our own lives.
Beyond the stage, Allen is one of the most familiar faces on British television and radio. He co-hosts ITV's Cooking with the Stars alongside Emma Willis, and has appeared on The Apprentice: You're Fired, The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice, Live at the Apollo, Would I Lie to You? and QI. He presents the podcast Like Minded Friends with Suzi Ruffell and hosts the gardening show Pottering. He's also a writer: his memoirs No Shame and Too Much are out, as is his debut novel Common Decency, published in May 2026.
