Three new plays by Tony Green, presented by Abingdon Drama Club, that explore the consequences of fate.
Abingdon Drama Club are bringing Three Little Windows to the Burton Taylor Studio at the Oxford Playhouse, with performances on Monday 11, Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 13 January 2027. It's a triple bill of new plays by Tony Green, all three sharing a common thread: the consequences of fate.
The first is The Noonday Chimes, set in Kent on 9 June 1865. It centres on a railway crash that leaves one passenger traumatised, and the fallout that follows. Little Birds moves us into wartime, following RAF Sergeant Neville Pascoe, captured by the Germans and held by an officer determined to uncover what he's hiding. The final piece, Bridgers, finds a woman standing on a bridge in the middle of the night, confronted by a stranger. Together they run for two hours, with an interval in between.
Green describes the three plays as exploring fate against a backdrop of trauma, wartime secrets, love and life-changing choices. The subject matter is heavy, though: the show is recommended for ages 14 and over, and contains discussion of suicide, violent death and post-traumatic stress. It's a good thing to keep in mind before you book, especially if you're bringing someone younger.
