Stage adaptation of Thomas Harris's horror novel, billed as the world's first live staging of the book, with John Partridge as Hannibal Lecter and Mollie Gallagher as Clarice Starling.
The Silence of the Lambs opens at New Theatre Oxford on Monday 19 October, running through to Saturday 24 October. It's a stage adaptation of Thomas Harris's horror novel, one of the 20th century's most chilling detective stories: FBI agent Clarice Starling enlists the help of the imprisoned cannibal Dr Hannibal Lecter to track the serial killer Buffalo Bill. The production is billed as the world's first live staging of the novel, brought to the stage by adapter Gina Gionfriddo and director Nikolai Foster.
John Partridge takes on the role of Hannibal Lecter, with Mollie Gallagher as Clarice Starling. The rest of the cast includes Oliver Farnworth as Jack Crawford, Sam Jackson as Buffalo Bill, Minal Patel as Frederick Chilton, Jo Mousley as Senator Ruth Martin, Lottie Amor as Catherine Martin, Mark Peachey as Pilcher, Andrew Joshi as Peterson, and Jonny Magnanti as Wertimer. Mary Timbrell Hill plays multiple roles across the run. It's a fairly large ensemble for a story that spends so much of its time on the tense, one-on-one conversations between Starling and Lecter, so there are plenty of faces to keep track of.

If you've only known the story through the film, the book is a bit of a different beast, and this is the first time it's been brought to the stage as a live production. Gionfriddo's adaptation and Foster's direction are the ones bringing it to life here. It runs from 19 to 24 October at the New Theatre Oxford, so you've got a few different dates to choose from across the week.
