Argentinian pianist Ingrid Fliter plays an all-Chopin programme of mazurkas, a nocturne and the 24 Preludes in St John's College, Oxford.
Ingrid Fliter plays an all-Chopin programme at St John's College Auditorium on Thursday 25 February 2027, her first appearance in the St John's International Piano Series. It's a Chopin-only set, so if you're a fan of his work, this is exactly the kind of night you're looking for.
She's playing the 24 Preludes op.28 in full, alongside the Nocturne op.48 no.1 in C minor and two sets of Mazurkas: op.33 no.1 in G minor, no.2 in D major, no.3 in C major, no.4 in B minor, and op.56 no.1 in B major, no.2 in C major, no.3 in C minor. The whole thing runs for an hour and ten minutes without an interval, so it's a single, unbroken stretch of Chopin from start to finish.
Fliter is an Argentinian pianist who's spent much of her career with Chopin's music. She won the Silver Medal at the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in 2000 and has since performed his works across Europe and the Americas, recording his piano sonatas, concertos, preludes, nocturnes and waltzes. This is her first time playing for the St John's International Piano Series, which is staged at St John's College, Oxford.
