Piano concert by Ryan Wang of Mozart, Schubert and Chopin at St John's College, part of the International Piano Series 2026-2027.
Ryan Wang plays St John's College Auditorium on Wednesday 25 November, starting at 7.30 pm. He's a Canadian pianist, and the programme for the night is Mozart, Schubert and Chopin — three of the biggest names in the piano repertoire, all in one sitting.
It's a fairly broad spread to cover in a single evening. Mozart brings the classical clarity, Schubert the lyrical, song-like side of the keyboard, and Chopin the romantic, virtuosic writing that usually takes centre stage. Hearing them together in one recital gives you a good sense of how the piano evolved across those different eras, rather than just sticking to one composer for the whole night.
The concert is part of the International Piano Series 2026-2027 at St John's College, a season of ten concerts. If you're the kind of person who'd rather see the whole run than just a one-off, there's a season ticket that covers all ten, which works out at a 20% discount. It's split into three price bands: £312.80, £275.20 and £232, depending on where you sit.
