Award-winning stand-up Seann Walsh returns with a new hour of high-energy observational comedy, named 'This is Torture'.
Seann Walsh is coming to the Oxford Playhouse on Friday 13 November, with his new hour This is Torture. It's his first time back on the road since his sell-out 2023 tour, and the title comes from the thing he says he says the most in life: "THIS IS TORTURE".
Walsh has built his name on high-energy observational comedy, the kind that takes the small, everyday things we all recognise and stretches them out until they're absurd. He's often billed as the UK's 'dishevelled king of stand-up', and the critics have been on board with that: The Guardian called him the best observational comic of his generation, The Evening Standard listed him as one of comedy's hottest properties, and The Independent described him as one of the most entertaining observational comics on the block. If you've seen him before, you'll know the style — he's a high-energy performer who works the room and leans into the observational side of things.
This is a brand-new hour, so you'll be hearing material he's been working on since that 2023 tour wrapped up. It's a full hour of stand-up, not a short set or a mixed bill, so it's just him on stage for the whole thing. One thing to keep in mind before you book: the show is recommended for ages 14 and over, and it contains strong language and adult content, so it's not one for a family outing with the younger ones.
