Rhys James: Chop Logic

Rhys James brings his show Chop Logic to the Oxford Playhouse on Thursday 25 March 2027. It's a full evening of stand-up, running an hour and fifty minutes with an interval, so you'll want to leave plenty of time on either side.

If you've come across him on telly, you'll recognise the name. He's been a regular on Mock The Week and QI, and has appeared on Live At The Apollo. On radio, he's done Rhysearch for BBC Radio 4, and he's the face behind the viral U&Dave lecture I Stalk Strangers Online. Chop Logic is described as fast and forensic, packed with big ideas and gag-dense overthinking — the kind of set that doesn't just punch at a joke and move on, but stays with it until it's properly picked apart.

It's not his only outing, either. The show sits alongside a long run of his other work: Spilt Milk, Rhys James Prepares, Rhys James Begins, Rhys James Remains, Rhys James Forgives, Rhys James Wiseboy, and Rhys James Snitch, as well as the book tour Rhys James You'll Like It When You Get There. The Times called his stand-up 'scintillating', and Richard Osman has named him 'one of the funniest men in the world'.

The show starts at 7.30pm at the Oxford Playhouse on Beaumont Street, with doors opening about half an hour before. Tickets are £12 for concessions and £24 full price, plus a £2.75 booking fee per transaction.
