Free interactive sessions for children aged 0-3 and their families, with books and toys and a chance for parents and carers to chat.
Stay, Play & Learn is back at Oxford Westgate Library on Thursday 22 October, from 9.30am to 11am. It's a free interactive session for children aged 0-3 and their families, run by Oxfordshire County Council. The setup is simple: they put out books and toys for the little ones to play with, and the rest of the time is for parents and carers to chat with each other while the kids do their thing. If you're in the early years of parenting, it's one of those easy morning slots where you can get out of the house without needing to plan a whole day around it.
The library itself is part of a larger council-run hub at The Westgate, so there's more going on around it than just the books. It houses a Makerspace, an Oxford City Customer Services point, a Citizens Advice office and a local history collection. If you're planning to hang around after the session, there are self-service computers and free wi-fi on hand, as well as printed and recorded music to browse. It's also built for accessibility, with lifts, disabled toilets and a hearing loop.
