Olivier and Tony Award-winning musical about the secret 1943 mission that helped win World War II, on its UK World Tour.
Operation Mincemeat is coming to the New Theatre Oxford from 13 to 17 July 2027, as part of an extended UK leg of its world tour. It's a musical based on a true story from 1943, when a secret Allied mission helped win the Second World War. The plot puts a stolen corpse, a fake love letter and — of all people — Ian Fleming up against Hitler, and it's described as a fast-paced and hilarious take on the whole thing.
It's a big-name production that's picked up a fair bit of hardware along the way. It won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical in 2024 and also took home a Tony Award on Broadway. The West End run was a sell-out, and the show has since built a reputation as one of the best-reviewed in the West End's history, with five-star reviews running into the hundreds. If you've heard the name but haven't seen it, this is one of the chances to catch it closer to home.
