Drop-in community market with organic and artisan producers from the local area on North Parade Avenue, held on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month.
North Parade Market is back on North Parade Avenue on Saturday 26 December, one of its usual twice-monthly dates. It's a drop-in community market that brings together organic and artisan producers from around the local area, and it's been running as a regular fixture here since it first started in July 2012. The street itself closes to traffic for the day, so the stalls take over the stretch of North Parade Avenue that's home to small shops and eating places, and over the years it's become a lively meeting place for residents.
The market is organised by the Oxford Preservation Trust, and there's a bit more to it than just the stalls. It supports a book by local historian Liz Woolley that looks at the history of the street — including why North Parade lies to the south of South Parade, and the changing lives and occupations of the people who lived here in the past. You can pick up a copy on the day. This year's edition runs under the theme 'Everyday Histories'.

If you're planning to go, it's worth keeping in mind how it fits into the wider calendar. The market usually runs on the second and fourth Saturday of each month, so this one falls on the fourth Saturday of December. Earlier in the year, the 2026 dates were 10 and 24 October, 14 and 28 November, and 5 and 19 December, with the latter being a Christmas market. This one on the 26th is the final date of the year, and it's held at North Parade Avenue, Oxford, OX2 6LX.
