Community market with organic and artisan producers, crafts and local charity stalls on the second and fourth Saturday of each month.
North Parade Market is back on North Parade Avenue on Saturday 12 December, running from 10:00 to 14:00. It's a community market that's been going for 14 years now, with the first one held in October 2012 after it was set up in July that year. Since then it's become one of the most regarded markets in North Oxford, bringing together organic and artisan producers from the local area alongside crafts and local charity stalls.
The setting is North Parade Avenue, a street of small shops and eating places that's been pedestrianised and turned into a lively meeting place for residents, known for the diversity of its architectural styles. It's a community-run affair, and the market itself commissioned a book by local historian Liz Woolley that explains why North Parade lies to the south of South Parade and describes the changing backgrounds and occupations of the street's past residents; you can pick up a copy at the market.
