Free and accessible day of light installations, the interactive walking tour 'The Battle of Night and Day', a shadow puppet-making workshop, light arts and crafts and a youth open mic night at Pegasus Theatre.
Pegasus Theatre is hosting a day of light-themed art and science on Saturday 14 November, as part of the Oxford Christmas Light Festival. It's free to get in, and the theatre is fully accessible, so it's a good one to bring the whole family along for. The daytime runs from 10.00am to 4.00pm, and there's a youth open mic night that goes from 7.00pm to 9.00pm.
The main thing on the bill is The Battle of Night and Day, a brand-new interactive walking tour by WhatNot Theatre. It's a fun one: you follow Night and Day as they battle for power, meeting characters and stories along the way, and you actually get to help decide how it ends. There are four sessions to choose from — 10.30am, 11.30am, 1.00pm and 2.00pm — so you can fit it in whenever suits you best.
Running alongside that is the IF Glow Gallery, which Pegasus is bringing to the theatre in partnership with the Oxford Science and Ideas Festival and IF Oxford. It's a drop-in installation that looks at the science of light using lasers, LEDs and phosphorescent boards, so you can just pop in and have a wander whenever you fancy. There's also a shadow puppet-making workshop with Emma Boor and Euton Daley, which you'll need to book in advance, and light-inspired arts and crafts led by Carmen Rodriguez Macias, which is drop-in. The whole day is built around bringing science and the arts together in one place, with installations, crafts, workshops, music and performance spread across the theatre.

Then there's the youth open mic night from 7.00pm to 9.00pm, open to 14-18 year olds — if you're performing, you'll need to book your spot. The whole day is free, and Pegasus is on Magdalen Road, Oxford OX4 1RE.
