Stand-up comedian Jack Dee marks 40 years in comedy with his comic memoir 'Jack's Joke Show', touring the UK in 2027.
Jack Dee brings Jack's Joke Show to the Oxford Playhouse on Tuesday 23 March 2027, at 7.30pm. It's part of a 52-date UK tour running from February to June, which followed a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe.
He describes the show as a comic memoir, and the hook is something you don't often hear from a comedian: he's marking 40 years in stand-up by taking the audience through his favourite old stories, jokes and anecdotes, with the explicit promise of absolutely no new material. He delivers it in his characteristic dry, deadpan style, and the show doubles as a map of the influences that led him into comedy and shaped his career. It runs for one hour 40 minutes with an interval, and it's recommended for ages 14 and over, with strong language and adult themes.
If you're not entirely familiar with his work, Dee is as well known for his television as for his stand-up. He co-wrote and starred in the sitcoms Lead Balloon and Bad Move, and has chaired I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue since 2009. He's also a regular on Have I Got News for You, QI, Taskmaster and The Apprentice: You're Fired. Beyond the screen, he wrote the autobiography Thanks for Nothing and the advice book What Is Your Problem?.
