Interactive physical theatre piece by Highly Sprung for children aged 3 to 7, combining dance, soundscapes and storytelling to bring nature to life.
Grow! comes to Pegasus Theatre on Sunday 25 October, with two sessions that day at 11:00 and 14:00. It's an interactive physical theatre piece made for children aged 3 to 7, from early years up to Year 2, so it's a good fit for the younger end of the primary school crowd.
The show is immersive and nature-filled, combining dance, intriguing soundscapes and heart-warming storytelling to bring the beauty of the natural world to life. The aim is to improve environmental awareness and strengthen children's connection to nature, and the interactive side means the kids aren't just watching from their seats.
It's staged by Highly Sprung, the UK's leading physical theatre charity, which creates original performances and experiences using physical theatre and works with and for children and young people. They do more than just put on shows, too: they run Sprung Youth, a performing-arts programme for ages 6 to 19 that combines drama, speech and movement, and a Young Producers programme that gives young people real decision-making power over programming, marketing and production. Their Youth Advisory Board, established five years ago, brings together fifteen young people aged 14 to 21 whose voices shape the company's work.
