Interactive wildlife drawing workshop with artist Alicia Hayden, suitable for all ages, to learn how to draw different species.
Alicia Hayden is running a wildlife drawing workshop at Oxford Westgate Library on Monday 26 October, from 2:00 pm for two hours. Hayden is an award-winning wildlife artist, and the session is built around her showing you how to draw different species.
It's an interactive workshop, so you'll be drawing along rather than just watching. Beyond the practical side, Hayden talks about the role of art in conservation and science engagement — how drawing animals can actually help people connect with the natural world and the work of protecting it. There's also a bit of history in the mix: you'll discover the work of Maria Sibylla Merian, who's described as one of the first scientific illustrators.
The session is open to all ages, though anyone under 18 needs to be accompanied by an adult. It's held at the library on Queen Street, in the heart of the city, so it's an easy one to get to on a weekday afternoon.

On the money side, it's Pay What You Decide, with a suggested donation of £7.50. That means you can chip in what you're comfortable with, and the suggested amount gives you a rough idea of what's expected. It runs from 2:00 pm for two hours at Oxford Westgate Library, Queen Street, Oxford OX1 1PE.
