YA Book Club: These Shattered Spires

Waterstones in Nottingham is hosting its YA Book Club on Wednesday 21 October, with this month's pick being These Shattered Spires by Cassidy Ellis Salter. The club meets on the third Wednesday of every month to talk through a mix of new and classic young adult titles, and it's open to anyone, so you can drop in for one session or make a habit of it.

These Shattered Spires is a queer YA fantasy with a heavy gothic atmosphere. It follows four human familiars, who are also rival arcanists, as they work to lift a curse from their world in the bloody aftermath of the king's assassination. If you're into fantasy that leans into the moodier, more atmospheric side of things, this is the one they're focusing on this time around.

The session starts at 18:30 at Waterstones, 1-5 Bridlesmith Gate, NG1 2GR. It's free to attend, but you do need to reserve your space in advance, so it's worth getting that sorted before you head down.
