All-day Women In Comedy Day of workshops, an industry panel and a live variety show celebrating female-identifying comedians at The Barley Twist.
Women In Comedy Day takes over The Barley Twist on Saturday 7 November, as part of the Nottingham Comedy Festival. It's a full day dedicated to funny women in the Midlands, put on by The Tits Comedy and Funny as Buck, and it mixes workshops, an industry panel, networking, and a live variety show. Doors open at 11:40am, and the first session kicks off at 12:00.
The day starts with the workshops: a Clowning Workshop with Pan ani from 12:30 to 1:30pm, followed by a Puppetry Workshop with Liz Johnson from 2:00 to 3:00pm. Both are £5. From 3:30 to 5:00pm, Kelly Griffiths runs a Glitter Project Fast Track Workshop, which is £5 or pay-what-you-can. The afternoon then moves into a more conversational gear with an industry panel from 5:30 to 6:30pm, featuring Gina Lyon, Lynne Park, and Alois-Amber Toole, hosted by Griffiths. That one is £12. The whole thing wraps up with The Tits & Funny as Buck Show at 7:30pm, a variety night described as supporting female-identifying, working-class, and underrepresented creatives, for £10.
There's a bit of history behind the names. Kelly Griffiths launched The Tits Comedy in April 2025 to create more opportunities for women and non-binary performers across the Midlands, and she later joined Funny Women as their Midlands Regional Producer, bringing their Glitter Project workshops to the region. Funny Women is the UK's leading female comedy community, helping women perform, write, and do business with humour; its founder, Lynne Park, has taken the Glitter Project Platinum edition and the Glitter Challenge to the Edinburgh Fringe.
