Nature-based outdoor play and learning session for children aged 6 months to 6 years in the Secret Walled Garden of Wollaton Hall.
Wollaton Tots Secret Garden is back at Wollaton Hall this autumn, with sessions running on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout October and November. The next one is Thursday 22 October, from 10:30am to 12:00pm, and it's held in the Secret Walled Garden within the hall and deer park.
It's a nature-based learning and play session designed for children aged six months to six years. The whole thing is built around getting them outdoors and letting them be curious, with a mix of nature exploration, sensory play, campfire experiences, barefoot walking and creative activities, alongside plenty of free play. It's a calm, friendly, community-focused setup that looks after the physical, social and emotional side of things as much as the play itself. One reviewer called it a 'brilliant activity for little ones' that they'd definitely return to.
It's not just for the kids, either. Adults get a complimentary hot drink, and the children are served drinks and snacks. If you're heading there, meet at the entrance by the green flag pole, near the 508 café and the first car park. It's £10 per child per session, with one free adult per paying child and additional adults at £5. Babies aged zero to six months go free, provided there's a paying child space. Places are limited, so it's worth booking ahead.
