Festive Christmas afternoon tea with sandwiches, savouries and seasonal desserts, including a visit to the Natural History Museum.
Wollaton Hall is doing a Christmas afternoon tea on Saturday 12 December, from 12:30 to 15:30. It's a festive spread of sandwiches, savouries and seasonal desserts, and the ticket includes entry to the Hall's Natural History Museum for a single visit.
For those who haven't spent much time there, Wollaton Hall is a Grade I listed Elizabethan mansion set in 500 acres of parkland. It's well known around here for the red and fallow deer that roam free across the estate, and it houses a natural history museum and formal gardens. It also has a bit of a claim to fame from the screen: it stood in for Wayne Manor in the 2012 Batman film The Dark Knight Rises.
Beyond the tea and the museum, there's plenty more to do around the estate. There are playgrounds and cafés, and the grounds work for walking and cycling as much as for concerts and festivals. If you're planning to spend the whole afternoon there, keep in mind that parking charges apply.
