Screening of the stop-motion adventure 'Wildwood' from the makers of 'Coraline', also available as a relaxed screening.
Wildwood is showing at Broadway Cinema from Saturday 24 October, with screenings running through to Thursday 29 October. It's a stop-motion adventure from the makers of Coraline, and if you're a fan of that kind of hand-crafted animation, this one is right up your street.
The story follows Prue, a young girl who ventures into a hidden forest to rescue her younger brother. Once inside, she finds herself caught between warring factions and extraordinary creatures in a world unlike anything she's ever known. It's a sweeping, darkly magical tale that doesn't shy away from its stranger side, and it runs for 132 minutes, so you've got a full feature to sink into. It carries a 12A certificate, which keeps it accessible for families while leaving room for the darker edges of the story.
One thing that sets this run apart is that it's also being presented as a relaxed screening. That means no trailers or adverts before the film, low lights, and reduced volume. You've the freedom to move around, make noise, or take breaks whenever you need to, and the doors open 15 minutes before the start. It's a good option if you're taking children who might struggle to sit still for over two hours, or if you just prefer a more laid-back way of seeing a film.
