Nottingham blues rock duo Whisky Stain mark their first vinyl pressing with an intimate live performance, supported by Hex Undone and Crawl Town.
Whisky Stain are playing The Grove on Saturday 17 October, and it's a bit of a milestone for them: they're launching their first ever vinyl pressing, a limited-edition collection. If you've never come across them, they're a Nottingham two-piece run by Robert and Luke, and they describe their sound as blues-driven rock. The launch is billed as an intimate performance, so it's a good chance to hear them up close rather than from the back of a larger room.
They've got two support acts on the bill. Hex Undone draw on punk, rockabilly, prog and country, and Crawl Town are a Nottingham proto indie-punk/dance-punk outfit. Between the three, the night should cover a fair bit of ground before the main set.
On the music itself, the duo talk about hymn-crushing hooks, blues-drenched riffs and earth-shaking beats, and the vinyl launch gives you a chance to hear that in the flesh. The record is a limited edition, so if you're into physical formats, it's worth having a look at the night.
