Double bill of improvisation: the musical duo Two Part Harmony and the improv comedy pair Witless, presented by Little John Improv / NCF Comedy.
Two Part Harmony and Witless play a double bill at Fishergate Point Studios on Sunday 1 November, presented by Little John Improv / NCF Comedy. It's a night of improvised comedy, so nothing is written in advance and both acts build their sets on the spot.
Two Part Harmony is the duo of Naomi and Hannah, and they work with music: songs, scenes and stories spun out of thin air and the audience's suggestions, with no script and no setlist. Witless take a different approach, turning an ordinary everyday event into a drama. The duo is Chris Collins and Adam Hodgson, and they've been performing together for about a year. Collins has been improvising for just over a year and brings more than 25 years of acting experience; Hodgson has been improvising since drama school and currently runs an improv group in Derby. They met when Hodgson was teaching a workshop, and they describe 'Witless' as a frighteningly apt medical diagnosis for Collins.
Fishergate Point Studios is on the corner near Nottingham Arena, known for the artwork in its windows. Inside it houses a cafe bar, gig venue, artisan shop, music studios and workshop spaces, and it's home to Nottingham's Circle of Light music project for young people. The double bill is for ages 16 and over.
