Screenings of Frank Berry's 12A film about the Bon Secours Mother and Baby Home in Tuam, based on a true story.
The Lost Children of Tuam is screening at Broadway Cinema this week, starting Friday 23 October. It's a 12A film directed by Frank Berry, running 84 minutes, and it's based on a true story set in rural Ireland.
The film follows Catherine Corless, an amateur historian who begins researching the Bon Secours Mother and Baby Home, a former institution for unmarried mothers and their children in Tuam, County Galway. What starts as a local enquiry uncovers one of the darkest chapters in modern Irish history. It's carried by Monica Dolan's performance, with Andrew Bennett, Ian McElhinney and Janet Grene also in the cast. Variety called it 'a stirring reflection of a buried tragedy'.
There are six screenings to choose from over the next week, so you can pick a time that works for you: Friday 23 October at 17:45, Saturday 24 October at 15:30, Monday 26 October at 15:30, Tuesday 27 October at 20:00, Wednesday 28 October at 17:45, and Thursday 29 October at 20:00. That's a mix of afternoon and evening slots across the working week, so it's easy to fit in.
