Live rock 'n' roll and blues night with The Jim Hammond Trio, followed by resident DJs until 3am at Billy Bootleggers.
The Jim Hammond Trio play Billy Bootleggers on Friday 30 October, an hour and a half of rock 'n' roll and blues reworking classic standards for an intimate live-venue setting. The trio is Jim Hammond on guitar, keys and vocals, Bill Crittenden on drums and vocals, and Greggi G on bass and vocals.
There's a fair bit of history behind the three. Bill Crittenden has spent the last 25 years on the jive circuit fronting The KingCats and is regarded as an exceptional drummer with one of the best rock 'n' roll voices. Greggi G has played in several top bands over the last 40 years, including Matchbox, The Crazy Gang, Freddie Fingers Lee and Johnny Earl, and is noted for his commanding stage presence. Jim Hammond has performed live for about 25 years, fronting combos such as The Borderlines, Sweet Georgia Boys and The Mark 2s and working with musicians including Lynette Morgan and Big Boy Bloater; his guitar playing carries a bluesy edge and his piano styles range from 40s boogie woogie to 60s Jerry Lee country.
