Halloween club night with nu-metal anthems at Billy Bootleggers, with guests encouraged to dress up.
Chop Suey is taking over Billy Bootleggers on Saturday 31 October for a nu-metal Halloween party, an early evening club night built around the anthems of the era. It's an easy one to wrap your head around: the music stays firmly in that nu-metal pocket, and the Halloween date is the excuse to turn up in fancy dress and lean into the theme. The night mixes the music with seasonal festivities at the bar, so it's as much about the party as the playlist.
The line-up they're working from covers the heavy hitters of the late nineties and early two thousands. You'll hear Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park, System Of A Down, Slipknot, Papa Roach, Deftones, Korn, Mudvayne, Coal Chamber, Andrew W.K, Drowning Pool, Alien Ant Farm, Rage Against The Machine, Puddle Of Mudd, Staind, P.O.D, and Soulfly, with more added in. It's a broad sweep of the sound, from the rap-metal side of things to the heavier, more industrial-leaning acts, so it should hold up regardless of which end of the era you prefer.

Because it's an early evening session, it's a good shout if you want to get your Halloween sorted without staying out until the early hours. It runs from 18:00 to 22:00 at Billy Bootleggers Bar, 15 Weekday Cross, NG1 2GB, in the city centre. Entry is £7, so you can get in, have a few drinks, and be home while it's still dark.
