Halloween-themed party at Billy Bootleggers where resident DJs play Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' on the hour from 11pm.
The Michael Jackson's Thriller On The Hour Party takes over Billy Bootleggers on Saturday 31 October, and it's exactly what the name says. Resident DJs will play Thriller on the hour, every hour, from 11pm onwards, throughout the night. It's a Halloween-themed floor filler built around one of the most iconic tracks of all time, and the venue stays open well into the early hours.
The hook is the only thing you need to know. If you're there at midnight, you'll hear it. If you're still there at 1am, you'll hear it again. And again at 2am, 3am, and so on. Between those moments, the DJs keep the dancefloor going, but Thriller is the anchor that brings everyone back together every sixty minutes.
There's a funny story behind it, too. The organisers say the idea started when they decided that playing nothing but Thriller all night was a better prospect than playing nothing at all. They didn't quite go that far, but they landed on this instead: the song as a recurring event rather than the whole set. It turns a single track into a bit of a countdown, something to look forward to as the night rolls on.

Billy Bootleggers is on Weekday Cross, the Nottingham club formerly known as Percy Picklebackers and run by the same team. The party is presented by the venue itself, so it's a home-grown night. Doors open at 23:00 on Halloween night, and entry is free, so you can drop in whenever you fancy and stay as long as you like.
