Live show by The Daydreamers, the band from Marquette, Michigan, at Rescue Rooms on Goldsmith Street.
daydreamers are playing Rescue Rooms on Wednesday 2 December, with the set starting at 7:30 PM. It's a mid-week one, so if you're planning to head in from outside the city, keep that in mind.
They're a band from Marquette, Michigan, formed five years ago by lead guitarist and main songwriter Nicklas Johnson and frontman Jackie Bowers. The line-up grew to include funk and jazz bassist Marc Sorrell and reggae drummer Bryn Jungwirth, and that's the group you'll see on stage. They've played more than 250 shows since they started, so they're well-used to the live stage.
What they do is hard to pin to one sound. They describe their style as ranging from blues, rap and jazz to pop and 90s alternative rock, and that's a broad spread to cover in one set. You'll hear the jazz and funk coming through in the rhythm section, with the 90s alt-rock and pop pulling it back towards something more familiar. They released their first original music video, F.P.S, written by Bowers, on 12 March 2015.
