TEDx conference at Nottingham Contemporary with talks on leadership, social justice and the rule of law under the theme 'Rediscovering Narratives'.
TEDx Maid Marian Way is back at Nottingham Contemporary on Thursday 7 January 2027, with the day running from 10:00. It's a full-day event, so you'll want to clear your schedule for the morning and afternoon rather than just popping in for a quick one.
The theme this time around is Rediscovering Narratives, and the whole day is built around it. The line-up brings together speakers sharing ideas and experiences on leadership, social justice, positionality and the rule of law — a fair spread that pulls from quite different corners of public life. It's not just about the talks, either; the organisers have made space for you to chat with other people there and pick up new perspectives between the sessions, so it works as much as a day of conversation as it does as a series of presentations.
If you've never been to a TEDx event, the format is pretty straightforward: a succession of short, focused talks given by people from various backgrounds, all under one roof. The Rediscovering Narratives theme ties them together, and the mix of leadership, social justice, positionality and the rule of law means you'll be jumping from one subject to another throughout the day. It's the kind of thing that works best if you're happy to let your mind wander across a few different topics rather than sticking to one.
