Stand-up show by Stevie Parker, billed as 'My Birthday Production', in which he attempts to tell 1,001 jokes in 55 minutes.
Stevie Parker brings his show Big Bloke With Big Jokes to the Cock and Hoop on Friday 30 October. It's presented by NCF Comedy in conjunction with Darth Vader Felt My, and the whole thing is billed as 'My Birthday Production'.
The show is built around a world record attempt: 1001 jokes, told in order, in 55 minutes. Parker describes it as a work in progress, and he's quite open about the fact that he's under no contractual obligation to actually pull it off. He frames the set with a wedding-style promise: something old, something new, something borrowed, and 'nothing (ish) blue'.
Parker says he's been telling stories and 'Dad' jokes for as long as he can remember, with his first memory being his father dragging him to the optician. He caught the comedy bug a couple of years ago, starting out with open mics and slots at music sessions. Since then, he's set up and run two comedy-only open mic nights in Leeds, both of which have been going for well over a year.
