A family-friendly dark adventure trail with spooky objects hidden around the grounds of Nottingham Castle, part of the October half-term programme.
Nottingham Castle is running a Spooky Circus Trail from Saturday 17 October to Sunday 1 November, with themed sheets available from the Visitor Centre. It's part of their wider Halloween and October programme, and it runs right across the October half term, so it's one of those things you can fit in whenever the kids are off school.
The trail takes you inside the Castle, where spooky objects are hidden around the grounds as part of a family-friendly dark adventure. You pick up your sheet at the Visitor Centre and then set off to track them down. It's designed for families, so it's more of a gentle hunt than anything that'll keep the little ones awake at night.
If you're already there, you can pair it with the Castle's Cave Tours in Mortimer's Hole, which open up the myths and legends buried beneath the site. Between the trail and the tours, you've got a full day's worth of things to do without having to leave the grounds.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Nottingham and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

The trail runs from 10am to 5pm daily, with last admission at 4pm, so you've got plenty of time to work your way through it. Each sheet is £2, and standard admission to the Castle and Grounds applies on top of that. Since it runs every day from the 17th through to the 1st, you can pick whichever day suits you best.
