Monthly spoken word and open mic night hosted by Miggy Angel, part of the Hockley Hustle programme.
Speech Therapy is back at Fisher Gate Point Downstairs on Sunday 25 October, running from 13:30 to 21:05. It's Nottingham's longest-running spoken word night, which has been going monthly since 2011 and is hosted by Miggy Angel. The format is a mix of an open mic and featured poets, so you'll hear local voices alongside the headliners.
This particular session is part of Hockley Hustle, a wider programme of events running across the city. The venue itself, Fisher Gate Point, is a converted bus depot near the Arena that houses a cafe bar, a gig venue, an artisan shop and dozens of creative projects; the downstairs area serves as the cafe bar and the main performance space.

It's a long one, stretching from early afternoon well into the evening, so you can drop in for a bit or stay for the whole run. A single Hockley Hustle wristband costs £20 and gives you access to all 48 venues across the city, so if you're planning to wander between different events on the day, this is the way to do it. Doors are open from 12:00 to 23:00, with the session itself running 13:30 to 21:05.
