Spooky Halloween cake-decorating session by Smuttercups where attendees make their own 'Smuttercup' cake, with no prior experience required.
Smuttercups are running a Halloween cake decorating workshop at Billy Bootleggers on Saturday 31 October, right on Halloween day. The session starts at 1:00 PM and runs for two and a half hours, so you'll be done well before the evening's trick-or-treating kicks off.
The whole point of the afternoon is to craft your own 'Smuttercup' — a spooky, decorated cake that you make yourself. The organisers aren't exactly pitching this as a masterclass in precision; they promise 'questionable creative decisions' and give plenty of encouragement to 'absolutely fuck it up'. It's less about getting it right and more about leaning into the chaos, which is a nice way to approach it if you're not used to spending your Saturdays with a piping bag in hand.
That's the key bit: no cake decorating experience is required. In fact, they suggest it's probably better if you have none, so you don't spend the whole time worrying about doing things 'properly'. They provide the cake and all the decorating supplies, so you just turn up and get stuck in. The session is recommended for ages 16 and over.

As for the venue, Billy Bootleggers is on Weekday Cross — it was formerly known as Percy Picklebackers, so if you're looking for it on an old map, that's the one. The workshop runs from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM, and tickets are £27.80.
