Spontaneous musical comedy in which a new show is created from scratch at each performance from audience suggestions.
The Showstoppers bring their improvised musical to Nottingham Playhouse on Saturday 17 April 2027, at 7:30pm. It's a one-off night, and the whole thing is made up on the spot: they ask the audience for suggestions and build a brand-new musical around them, with songs and dance written and performed right there in the room. Since every show starts from scratch, no two nights are the same.
They've been doing this for sixteen years, starting as an Edinburgh Fringe must-see and going on to a BBC Radio 4 series, a critically acclaimed West End run, and an Olivier Award. The reviews have been strong: the Daily Telegraph called it 'so polished, it defies belief' (5/5), The Times 'achingly funny... worth seeing again and again' (5/5), and Time Out gave it 4/5. It's recommended for ages 12 and over.
