Standing general admission night by Welsh rock band Scarlet Rebels at the Rescue Rooms, with an age restriction of 14+.
Scarlet Rebels play Rescue Rooms on Thursday 25 February, their first Nottingham date in a while. They're a Welsh rock band from Llanelli, fronted by singer Wayne Doyle and rounded out by his brother Gary on drums, guitarist Chris Jones and bassist Carl Oag. The two brothers at the core of it, with Jones and Oag filling out the sound, have been together since the start.
Their first two albums both landed in the UK Top 20, and their fourth, Flawed By Design, runs to eleven anthemic, introspective songs. It's a record that sits alongside the earlier ones, and the set will draw from across their catalogue. If you've followed them from the beginning, you'll recognise the early material; if you're coming in later, Flawed By Design is the latest point of reference.
Rescue Rooms is on Goldsmith Street in the city centre, and it's a venue that does a few things at once: live music, a club, a bar and a patio. It's known for putting on new live acts alongside late-night parties, and it has two secluded outdoor areas. The Guardian called it 'one of the jewels' in Nottingham's crown, praising its strong, forward-leaning booking policy and consistently pleasant atmosphere.
