High-tech, explosive family science show with live demos, stunts and audience interaction, created by Stefan Gates.
Stefan Gates brings Rude Science 2 to the Royal Concert Hall on Monday 15 February 2027, with two shows that day: one at 11:30am and another at 3:00pm. It's a sequel to the original Rude Science, and it's billed as bigger, messier and cheekier than the first. Gates is a BBC Gastronaut who's presented 20 television series, five for CBBC, and written 13 STEM books, Rude Science being one of them. The show mixes genuinely fascinating science with outrageous comedy, and the warnings let you know what to expect: loud bangs, audience participation, latex balloons, stage fog and edible samples. It runs for 90 minutes including an interval, and after the show there's a 30 to 40 minute photo opportunity with Gates himself.
The age guidance is 5+ to early teens, and under-14s need to be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over. A review from the Cheltenham Science Festival called it 'brilliant, spectacular, hilarious and packed with fascinating science'.
