Stand-up show 'Vexy Beasts' by English comedian Rachel Fairburn, following her 2024 show 'Side Eye'.
Rachel Fairburn brings her new show Vexy Beasts to The Canalhouse on Sunday 1 November, with the set starting at 15:40. It's a matinee, so it's one of those Sunday afternoons where you can catch a full show and still be home in time for a proper dinner.
Fairburn is an English comedian known for sharp wit and observational humour, and she's a familiar face on the Edinburgh Fringe, where she's staged six critically acclaimed solo shows since 2014. Vexy Beasts follows her 2024 show Side Eye, so if you've seen her work recently, this is the next chapter. The critics have been generous with her: Rolling Stone called her a 'Rock 'n' Roll Star of British Comedy', The Guardian noted her as a 'skilled impressionist', and Chortle described her as 'a huge presence in a pint-sized frame'.
Beyond the solo stage, she co-hosts and co-writes the international hit podcast All Killa No Filla, and she curates and hosts the 'Comedian's Stories' night at the 2Northdown comedy club in London. She's also appeared on BBC Presents: Stand Up For Live Comedy and Funny Festival Live, so she's well-versed in both the intimate club room and the larger stage. Vexy Beasts is the latest solo outing from that background.
