LGBTQ+ stage of Hockley Hustle, the multi-venue music and arts festival in Nottingham, with queer artists, bands, poetry and performance.
Queer Hustle takes over Pogo on Sunday 25 October, from 12:00 until 00:30. It's one of the stages of Hockley Hustle, the multi-venue music and arts festival that's run every year in Nottingham since 2006. The wider festival draws hundreds of local artists across genres ranging from rock and jazz to samba, poetry, bingo and performance art, and it's won critical acclaim over the years. Queer Hustle is the LGBTQ+ arm of the weekend, a celebration of the city's queer artists and performers that co-organiser Cae Capurro describes as rolling with the current wave of artists coming out.
There's a bit more to the festival than the music, too. Hockley Hustle has always operated as a charity, with every wristband acting as a donation. It's raised more than £200,000 for local causes including Emmanuel House, IMPACD CIC, Al-Hurraya, The Harley Jae Trust, Young Carers Notts and Shifting your mindset. This year marks twenty years for the festival, and there's a 20th-anniversary exhibition of posters, wristbands, photos and stories on display at Broadway gallery.
