Stand-up show 'Looking for Trouble' by comedian Dylan Moran, described as a darkly comic ride through work, consumerism and existential chaos.
Dylan Moran brings his new show, Looking for Trouble, to Nottingham Playhouse on Sunday 15 November, as part of his 2026 live comedy tour. It's a brand new hour-and-a-half from the BAFTA and Perrier award-winning comedian, and if you know him from Black Books, you've a good idea of the territory he works in.
He describes the show as a darkly comic, irreverent ride through work, consumerism and existential chaos. It's a broad target—the daily grind, the things we buy, and the general sense of everything falling apart—and he takes it on with the same dry, cynical eye he's known for. The whole thing runs for 110 minutes, so it's a proper night out rather than a quick set. It's recommended for ages 16 and over, with warnings of strong language, adult themes, alcohol references and dark, irreverent humour, so it's not one to bring the kids along to.
By the time it hits Nottingham, the show will have already toured Europe through September and October, so it's not a first-night run. The critics have been on it too: Metro called it 'joyfully cynical', The Guardian gave it five stars, and The Independent described it as 'perfect for the times'.
