Pure Reason Revolution play Rescue Rooms in Nottingham with special guests KYROS on their Terrifying Angels Tour.
Pure Reason Revolution play Rescue Rooms on Monday 2 November, with special guests KYROS. The night is presented by Born Again Concerts as part of the Terrifying Angels Tour, and it's the band's first Nottingham date in years.
If you're not familiar with them, Pure Reason Revolution started at the University of Westminster in 2003, led by Jon Courtney and playing under the name The Sunset Sound before they settled on the name they've kept since. Their sound is a blend of progressive rock, grunge and electro, with vocal harmonies that draw comparisons to The Beach Boys. Their debut single 'Moving' got airplay on Radio 1, XFM and LA's KROQ, and their first full-length album, The Dark Third (2006), produced by Paul Northfield, established them as one of the UK's most distinctive progressive acts.
Since then they've released Amor Vincit Omnia (2009), Hammer and Anvil (2010), Eupnea (2020), Above Cirrus (2022) and Coming Up To Consciousness (2024), all via InsideOut Music. After a break in 2011, a 2019 festival appearance reignited the band and its fanbase, and they've been back in the studio since. The new album, Terrifying Angels, is described as dark and potent, full of savage riffs and grungy layers melded with the band's signature transcendent harmonies.
