Non-profit, artist-led festival of independent print and self-publishing with more than 50 stalls, free workshops, live illustration, performances, readings, talks and exhibitions across three floors of Nottingham Central Library.
Notts Zine Fest returns to Nottingham Central Library on Saturday 24 October, running from 10:00 to 15:30. It's a non-profit, artist-led festival dedicated to independent print, publishing and design, and it's been running since 2016. Over the years it's grown into one of the city's leading grassroots cultural events, and it's often described as one of the UK's most joyful celebrations of independent creativity.
The day is spread across three floors of the library, set up as a market with more than 50 stalls. You'll find zines, comics, prints, art books and small-press publications, so it works as well for print lovers and art-book collectors as it does for comic fans and first-time visitors. Alongside the stalls, there are free workshops, live illustration, performances, readings, talks and exhibitions.
Behind it are local makers Dizzy Ink, MOAN Zine and Raw Print, with support from It's In Nottingham. They say the festival aims to celebrate visual culture, self-publishing and entry-level creative participation, and it's become a melting pot where visual art creators build relationships and cross-pollinate projects. If you're into making things yourself, that's a good place to start.
