Annual Christmas concert by the 100-strong Nottingham Playhouse Choir, revisiting favourites and Christmas classics over the venue's pantomime set.
The Nottingham Playhouse Choir are back on the Main Stage at Nottingham Playhouse on Wednesday 9 December, their annual Christmas concert. It's a 100-strong choir, so there's a fair bit of sound behind them, and they're performing over the set of the venue's legendary pantomime, which puts the whole thing in the middle of the Playhouse's biggest seasonal tradition.
The programme does two things at once: it revisits a number of favourites from the choir's own repertoire and sits them alongside the Christmas classics everyone knows and loves. It's a mix of the songs they've built their reputation on and the ones that just feel right this time of year, so you'll get a bit of both in one go. The whole thing runs for 75 minutes, which is long enough to settle into without dragging on, and it's suitable for all ages, so it works as a family outing as much as a night out on your own.
