Improvisation double bill by Nottingham Improv All Stars, with a solo improvised musical for Halloween, presented by NCF Comedy.
Nottingham Improv All Stars and Abridged - The Solo Improvised Musical share a bill at Fishergate Point Studios on Saturday 31 October, presented by NCF Comedy as a Little John Improv double bill. It's a night of two very different approaches to improv, both built on the spot from the audience's suggestions.
The first half belongs to the Nottingham Improv All Stars, who bring together some of the city's finest improvisers. They work as an ensemble, taking suggestions from the crowd and making mischief on stage. The second half is a solo affair: Abridged - The Solo Improvised Musical is built from scratch by a single performer. The story, the emotion and the songs are all improvised in the moment, with nothing more than an improviser, a guitar and an audience to work with. Because it falls on Halloween, the show comes with the added twist that it might be the scariest solo improvised musical there's ever been.

Between the two, you get the full range of the format in one evening: a group working together on one half, and a single performer carrying the other. Both rely on what the room brings to them, so the night will be different from any other. The venue is Fishergate Point Studios, Point3 Fisher Gate, Nottingham NG1 1GD. Doors open at 5:40pm, and the show starts at 6pm. Tickets are £7.70, and the room is 16 and over.
