Northern Ballet's adaptation of Emily Brontë's gothic novel, choreographed by David Nixon with music by Claude-Michel Schönberg, for audiences 12+.
Northern Ballet bring Wuthering Heights to the Theatre Royal from Wednesday 14 to Saturday 17 April 2027. It's their take on Emily Brontë's gothic classic, set on the wild Yorkshire moors and choreographed by David Nixon CBE, with original music by Claude-Michel Schönberg. The story follows the ravenous, passionate and obsessive love between Cathy and Heathcliff, which they describe as a force of nature: beautiful, brutal and impossible to escape.
The production is performed to recorded music and runs about two hours, including a twenty-minute interval. It's drawn some strong praise along the way: The Scotsman called dance the perfect genre for this tragic love story, the Sunday Express described it as a riveting evening, and the Telegraph and Argus called it a lovely interpretation of a classic story, performed with passion.
There are six performances across the four days. Wednesday 14 April is 7:30pm; Thursday 15 April has a 2:00pm matinee and a 7:30pm evening show; Friday 16 April is 7:30pm; and Saturday 17 April has a 2:30pm matinee and a 7:30pm evening show. The Saturday matinee is audio-described, and there's a free touch tour running before it. Age guidance is 12+.
