Variety night and artist showcase by Niche Artefact with drag performers, live music, artwork and a silent auction about Judy Garland.
Niche Artefact brings The Cult of JUDY to Das Kino on Sunday 29 November, their 16th Artist Showcase. The night centres on the life of Judy Garland, with a line-up of drag artists and entertainers taking the stage: Priscilla, Shona Krakow, Dani Magic, Milady, Serena Eadon, Jackie Paper, Carrie On Love, Ro De La Monja and Bobbie Dazzler, with special guest Liv Presents. Niche Artefact founder Robin Da Silva and choreographer David Beer host the evening.
It's more than just the stage show, though. The night is set up as a full variety evening: you've got the live performance, a chance to mingle with the performers, one-of-a-kind artwork on display, and a silent auction with pieces by local Nottingham artists. If you're into the art side of things, the auction is where the local work comes into play.
Niche Artefact is a non-profit that creates spaces for local artists to show their work through exhibits and stage shows, with a focus on the LGBTQIA+ community. Their work is supported by public funding from the National Lottery through Arts Council England, so this is one of those nights that sits within that broader project of giving local creatives a place to perform.
