Documentary film NAZA, directed by Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, screening at Broadway Cinema.
NAZA, the new documentary from Yuval Abraham and Rachel Szor, opens at Broadway Cinema on Friday 16 October. It's an 80-minute film with a 15 certificate, and after the opening, it stays on the bill with further screenings running through to 22 October.
Shot at night on the rooftops of Tel Aviv, the film looks at the systems behind Israel's bombing of Gaza and the mass killing of Palestinian civilians. The title itself comes from a military acronym used by Israeli intelligence to indicate the number of civilians the army expects will be killed in an airstrike. It's a stark piece of work, and the title gives you a good sense of what it's getting at.
Abraham and Szor are two of the four co-directors of the 2024 Oscar winner No Other Land — one a filmmaker and investigative journalist, the other a filmmaker and cinematographer. They've described making this out of a sense of obligation to use their positions as Israelis to explore that violence. Much of what the film reveals was published by The Guardian, one of its producers, in collaboration with +972 Magazine and Local Call in the months following the October 7 attacks. It's drawn strong critical praise, with Little White Lies calling it one of 2026's most vital film releases.
