A surrealist comedy show by Michael Brunström, presented by Club Wormhole, at Fisher Gate Point as part of the Wormhole Weekend.
Michael Brunström brings William Tell versus the Algorithm to Fisher Gate Point on Saturday 7 November, from 17:00 to 18:00. It's part of Wormhole Weekend, a three-day run of alternative comedy presented by Club Wormhole as part of the Nottingham Comedy Festival. Across the weekend, there are 15 shows mixing local performers with talent from across the UK, ranging from offbeat cabaret and clowning to folk tales and surreal solo shows. The weekend is known for being performed and attended by some of the loveliest folks in comedy, it's wheelchair accessible, and audiences can pay what they want on the door.
Brunström is a London-based surrealist comedian and a member of the Weirdos Comedy Collective. He won the Malcolm Hardee Award for Comic Originality, and his 2024 show Copernicus Now was nominated for Best Show at the Leicester Comedy Festival. William Tell versus the Algorithm is an anti-AI folk tale: William Tell, the hero of medieval Swiss folklore, armed only with a crossbow, an apple and an overture, sets out to thwart the social media algorithms threatening freedom and creativity.
