Stand-up show 'Stand Up Comic' by Matt Bragg, described as classic observational stand-up with a 20-minute interval.
Matt Bragg is playing Nottingham Arts Theatre on Thursday 25 March 2027, with the show starting at 8:00pm. It's his new stand-up show, Stand Up Comic, and it's the first time he's been back on stage since his debut special came out in 2025.
If you haven't come across him before, Bragg is one of those comedians who's been working the circuit for a long time without making a loud noise about it. He's been performing for more than a decade and has shared the stage with Ricky Gervais, Matt Rife, Stephen Merchant and Harry Hill. He's just come off a sell-out UK tour, so this is a fresh start with a new hour of material.
Stand Up Comic is built around a deadpan delivery paired with sharply observed, meticulously crafted material. It's the kind of comedy that doesn't rely on big gestures or shouting; the jokes are the whole point. The critics have been pretty specific about where he fits in. Ricky Gervais called it "classic observational stand up, delivered with effortless style", and Rob Beckett described it as "excellent". Chortle summed him up as "Jack Dee's world view, with Frank Skinner's voice, all wrapped in a Mod's fashion sense" — which gives you a fair idea of the tone: dry, observational, and delivered with a bit of a wink.
