Off-peak visit to meet Father Christmas and Mrs Claus, take photographs and share Christmas wishes, with a mini spruce tree keepsake, as part of the venue's Christmas Market.
Woodthorpe Park Plant Shop is running its Magical Father Christmas Experience on Saturday 21 November, with the first session starting at 10:00. It's an off-peak date, so it's a bit cheaper than the peak slots. The whole thing is part of the plant shop's Christmas Market, which brings in gift and craft stalls and a cafe, so there's plenty to do around the experience itself.
The session is built around a little story. Mrs Claus welcomes your group and sets you on a mission to recover some of Santa's misplaced treasures, and you've got half an hour to follow the trail and find them before you meet Santa himself. Once you've done that, you get to meet both Santa and Mrs Claus, take photographs and share your Christmas wishes. As a keepsake, they give every guest their own 'baby spruce tree' to take home, which grows into a personal mini Christmas tree forest over the year.
It's run in half-hour sessions of six tickets each, so it stays small rather than becoming a big crowd. You'll have half an hour to follow the trail, and the whole thing is held within the Christmas Market, so you can wander the stalls and the cafe before or after. Ticket holders also get 10% off Christmas plants and planters, though that doesn't include Christmas trees.
